Two Girls Down
'Two Girls Down' caught my attention the second I read the synopsis and once I read the first page I was hooked. Before starting 'Two Girls Down' I had absolutely no expectations for the book because I hadn't heard of it or the author, so I was going in blind...which honestly is quite nice. Whenever a book has all this hype around it the expectations get way too high and it's harder to be objective.
In 'Two Girls Down' two sisters, 10-year-old Kylie and 8-year-old Bailey, disappear from a strip mall and the local police have no idea where they are and how to find them. The missing girls' family hires Alexa Vega, a renowned bounty hunter, to find the girls. Alexa Vega comes into town ready to work with the police, but is found to be a nuisance and the police want nothing to do with her, so Alexa Vega hires Max "Cap" Caplan a former police officer who resigned from his position. Vega and Cap team up and use the limited resources and clues they have to find the girls before they are lost forever.
The story is suspenseful, intriguing, and is well developed. Luna wrote some great characters. I love character-driven stories because it allows me to to connect more with the story. 'Two Girls Down' was exactly the binge-worthy thriller I have been looking for.
